“The Institute of well-being for birds of flight”

“Instituto de bienestar para aves de vuelo”

Established in 3024, the institute seeks to provide respite and shelter resources for birds of flight residing in or traveling through our fine neighborhood.

ARTIST

Jeff Feld

My studio practice is informed by my background as a child protective services social worker. I view my efforts as an extension of my social work practice. By that I mean I enter into a space and work with disparate elements to help them get along.. I live and work in Ridgewood, Queens which inspires me daily. My sculptures and drawings have been featured in both national and international exhibitions, including White Columns, Artists Space, The Drawing Center, The Brooklyn Museum and the Queens Museum of Art in New York and Dunker Kulturhus in Helsinborg, Sweden.

Fallow Frames Biennial 2024

July 13 — 14, 2024
Ridgewood, Queens NY

2pm — 7pm

24 Empty Tree Beds - 25 Participating Artists

Ridgewood’s sidewalks have over 800 empty tree beds - or roughly one for every 90 residents.

The Fallow Frames Biennial is an upcoming public art festival that will be held on July 13th and 14th, where local artists are invited to use 24 abandoned tree beds to stage site-specific installations and performances.

Visitors are invited to wander the neighborhood as active participants in a larger narrative of renewal and artistic expression - and to spark conversations about urban ecology and these small neglected patches of the city’s landscape.
